Forensic experts provide grim details in ongoing Calvert murder case

Week one of Brandon Holbrook’s trial for allegedly killing of a Calvert County resident in September 2023 wrapped up Friday afternoon with the prosecution still presenting its case to the jury.

Calvert Circuit Court Judge Mark Chandlee halted the proceedings before defense attorney Brendan Callahan could begin his cross-examination of crime scene technician Chelsea Ward of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, one of a handful for forensic specialists called by prosecutors.
